Moments of Life – A theatrical aperitif or breakfast

After a 2-year wait, Sources Rosport is relaunching its “Moments of Life” contest. The prize? A unique experience of sharing, theatre, and gourmet dining around a table of guests.

Remember, in 2015, Sources Rosport introduced gourmet dinners in usually inaccessible locations in Luxembourg. The décor, the dishes, and the ambiance followed the rules of fine dining, but the challenge was that chefs had to prepare their meals in a location without a kitchen. To make this event exclusive, only 60 winners were drawn to share this exceptional feast. Now, Sources Rosport returns two years after its last “Moments of Life” with a slightly different concept.

The core idea remains the same: being invited by Sources Rosport to share an emotional moment with a guest of your choice. The uniqueness no longer lies in chefs preparing meals in an unusual place but in sharing a heartfelt moment around a table.

As a partner of the Esch-sur-Alzette Nuits de la Culture, Sources Rosport has decided to highlight culture, memories, and the joy of a feast. The event will take place in a secret location at the heart of the cultural city, where a special table will be set up. 40 guests will enjoy an apéritif, and another 40 will experience a unique breakfast. Served by a street theater troupe, the meal will blend conversation, reflections, and wordplay.

The program kicks off on Friday, September 2, in the evening with “Apérotomanie.”

“Apérotomanie is a hybrid form of aperitif and theater, plunging us into the ritual of a possible opening toward the erotic. It gathers 40 guests around a large counter where two performers prepare and serve hors d’oeuvres filled with flavors and meaning,” according to the Derezo theater troupe.

After 40 minutes of indulgence, attendees can enjoy the rest of the Nuits de la Culture program in Esch-sur-Alzette, such as the Food Market at Place de l’Hôtel de Ville or the REESCH project at the Schifflange industrial site. Directed by Sean McKeown, artistic director of Cirque du Soleil, this performance brings together over 20 international artists and 17 local dancers.

On Saturday morning, September 3, breakfast will take center stage.

This 40-minute morning ritual is filled with the scent of coffee, toast, soft-boiled eggs, orange juice, and homemade madeleines! Accompanied by stories, the actors play with words, guiding the audience into an imaginative space full of tenderness and humor. You can discover the heartwarming ambiance here:

A quick recap: “Moments of Life” dates back to September 2015. Starting in July, Sources Rosport held a major contest where the main prize was an unprecedented gourmet dinner. Rosport selected chef Renato Favaro, tasking him with creating a unique menu in a makeshift kitchen set up right in the middle of the Schueberfouer, served in a Ferris wheel cabin for four lucky winners during the fireworks display. Renato and his team met the challenge, and the event was such a success that Rosport decided to continue offering emotional and shared experiences in incredible locations.

In 2016, the setting for the first official “Moments of Life” evening was equally remarkable. The dinner for about 30 people was held in an old barn in the middle of a field near the picturesque village of Berlé in northern Luxembourg. It was an unforgettable moment for the guests, with Frank Manes crafting a masterful culinary experience.

In late 2016, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Rosport Blue, 20 guests were invited to a dinner concert in the “Breechkaul” cave near Berdorf, specially transformed for the occasion. Chef Michaël Ollbrich embraced the challenge, delighting the guests.

In spring 2017, a dinner and brunch were organized at Luxembourg’s highest point, 583 meters above sea level, in the water tower at “Burrigplatz” in Huldange. Chef Frank Manes once again took on the challenge.

In October 2017, Sources Rosport hosted an event at the former Arcelor-Mittal industrial site in Esch/Schifflange. The guests were treated to a bus tour of the site, followed by a stunning dinner by chef Isabelle Weisen.

In March 2018, Sources Rosport invited winners to a dinner on the Beaufort ice rink, a magical evening filled with candlelight and gourmet creations by chef Ben Weber.

In December 2018, the sixth “Moments of Life” event took place at the Celtic House in Neihaischen. Guests enjoyed a mystical evening with a spectacular dinner by chef René Kertz.

The last event, in May 2019, was held 40 meters above ground on a crane-mounted platform, with stunning views over Kirchberg.
